The inspiration for the Nike Book 2 "Fragment" comes from the philosophy of fragment design, Hiroshi Fujiwara's studio, applied to a high-performance basketball shoe. The central idea is to bring his minimalist and refined approach to the Book silhouette, removing visual excess and opting for clean lines, a more streamlined construction, and a sober aesthetic. The combination of contrasting colours and the discreet yet recognisable use of the signature fragment lightning bolt reinforce the concept of "less is more", blending streetwear culture and on-court performance with an elegant, controlled, and modern look.

UPPER

A mesh system on the upper provides firm and soft support for quick cuts and sudden movements in true Book style.

OUTSOLE

The modernised herringbone traction pattern was inspired by Book's love for the Air Force 1, taking references from the traditional basketball pivot circles that provide grip and durability.

MIDSOLE

The midsole is made from the new Cushlon foam, giving you a soft feel underfoot so your feet stay fresh throughout the final quarter. Your foot rests on a responsive insole that offers a fast step-in feel from the very first moment.
