The distinctive diamond pattern on the upper and sole is not just an aesthetic element: it is a subtle tribute to Kobe's eldest daughter, Natalia, whose middle name is Diamanté. These diamonds symbolise the special family bond present in the design.

The name ‘Halo’ refers to an annual line of all-white sneakers created as a tribute to Kobe's birthday (23 August). The model has become an annual tradition within the Kobe Protro universe.

The original Kobe 3 was worn by Kobe during his 2007-08 MVP season.
